“Photography” comes from photo (light) and graphy (writing). Literally it means drawing light. In this photograph, I tried to capture the dim light filtering through the stained-glass windows of Madrid’s iconic Catedral de la Almudena, with the message conveyed by a cold sunny day.

Decomposers are living beings which close the nutrient cycle, enabling tiny pieces of organic matter to turn into inorganic matter. Their role is necessary in every ecosystem, or otherwise plants could not obtain nutrients from poor soils. I invite you to reflect on the importance of studying these living beings to their preservation. If only…
